AI is already a distribution channel. Almost no European manager is measuring it.

71.0%

of answers named the most-cited firm. The gap to the rest is huge and winnable.

18.5%

of mentions still went to US giants, on a question that always said European.

0.35

correlation between brand pull and AI share of voice. Being famous barely helps.

What the audit reveals

The same firm can lead from memory and vanish when AI searches

Mode is the biggest lever. Answering from memory, an engine names the incumbents. Searching the live web first, it reshuffles toward whoever sits in the sources it retrieves. The audit shows which mode you win, and which one makes you invisible. The lines below are illustrative. That pattern is documented in why the winner changes when the engine starts searching.

Six questions your board is about to start asking

Every answer is a real number traced to saved AI responses, not an opinion. The method is public. The audit runs it rigorously against your firm and your competitors.

Are you named at all?

Your AI share of voice: the share of answers that name your firm, across the panel.

In which mode?

Whether you appear when the engine answers from memory, when it searches the live web, or both.

Against whom?

Your rank on the shortlist next to the competitors you actually pitch against.

In which languages?

How the answer shifts across English, German, French, Spanish and Dutch. The shortlist changes by market.

Why?

The mechanics behind your number: crawler access, the sources AI cites, and the brand-pull gap.

What to fix first?

A prioritised action list, ordered by what will move your share of voice fastest.

How it works

A frozen method, so the number is defensible

  1. 1

    Freeze the questions

A fixed set of buyer-intent prompts a real client or allocator would ask, agreed with you and held constant so every reading is comparable.

    Week 1

  2. 2

    Run the panel

Each prompt runs many times across multiple AI engines, in both grounded and recall mode, across five languages. Every answer is saved.

    Week 1 to 2

  3. 3

    Score and prioritise

You get your share of voice, your rank, the mode and language breakdown, the reasons, and a ranked list of what to change first. Plus a readout call.

    Week 2

A board-ready benchmark, not a slide of vibes

  • Your AI share of voice, scored and benchmarked against named competitors
  • Grounded versus recall breakdown, so you know if you win only from memory
  • Language-by-language shortlist across your five key European markets
  • The reasons behind your number, from crawler rules to the sources AI cites
  • A prioritised action list your marketing team can start on Monday
  • A saved baseline, so the next reading shows whether you moved

The challenger

Punch above your fame

Brand pull barely predicts AI share of voice. That is the opening for a smaller, sharper firm to out-rank a household name.

The incumbent

Protect a lead that expires

Big names win from memory and lose the moment the engine searches the web. Know where you are exposed before a competitor finds out.

The distribution lead

Instrument a new channel

AI recommendations are an acquisition channel nobody has measured yet. This is the meter for it.

Who runs it

I run the public AI Asset-Manager Observatory across 2,243 logged answers. This audit is that exact method, pointed at your firm.

I came into European asset management last year from B2C performance marketing, where you measure every step or you do not get paid. AI recommendations are a discovery channel nobody has instrumented yet, and that measure-everything habit is what this audit brings to it.

The method is public on purpose. Nothing here is a black box: you can read exactly how the Observatory works, and the audit follows the same rules, traced to saved answers. The value is not a secret formula, it is running it rigorously, every quarter, so your number holds up in a board meeting. The fixes are public too, in how to get your firm named when someone asks AI for a manager.

One disclosure, because it matters when the number is the product: I also work with one of the firms that appears in the panel, and it is measured with the same roster, prompts and rules as every other firm.

One firm. Two ways to work together.

The method is fixed. The scope depends on your competitor set and markets, so a short call settles the shape and the price.

What it takes from you: your firm name, your competitor set and the markets that matter. No implementation, no data access, nothing from inside your stack. One short call fixes the panel, the competitors and the fee.

The honest answers

Which engines and languages do you test?+
A panel of leading AI engines in both grounded and recall mode, run across English, German, French, Spanish and Dutch. The exact panel is agreed with you and frozen so every reading is comparable.
Do you need access to our systems or data?+
No. The audit measures what public AI engines say when asked to recommend a manager. It needs your firm name, your competitor set, and the markets you care about. Nothing from inside your stack.
How is this different from an SEO or GEO report?+
It measures one specific thing, whether AI names you when a buyer asks, and it is traced to saved answers with a public method. It is a benchmark you can defend, not a scan of generic best practices. The framing behind it is set out in the measurement layer for European managers. For the six numbers to report, see the AI visibility KPIs for asset managers.
Is our brand budget wasted, then?+
Not wasted, but brand pull correlates only 0.35 with AI share of voice. The audit shows where retrievable, well-structured evidence will move your number more than more brand spend.
One-off or ongoing?+
Start with a one-off audit to see where you stand. AI answers shift as models retrain and the live web changes, so most firms move to the quarterly monitor once they have their first reading.

Send me the firms you are up against

Tell me your competitor set and the markets you care about, and I will tell you what the audit would measure for your firm. It needs nothing from inside your stack: your name, your rivals, and the languages your clients ask in.

  1. 1You send the firms you lose to in a pitch and the markets that matter. One message is enough.
  2. 2I reply within one working day, including an honest read on whether the audit is the right shape for you.
  3. 3One short call fixes the panel, the competitor set and the fee.
  4. 4Two weeks later: the reading, the reasons, the ranked fixes, and a 45-minute readout to walk your team through it.

The quickest start is one short message. Say which managers you lose to in a pitch, which countries and languages matter, and what the board is asking about. If the question is one I have already published on, you get the short answer and the link to the evidence.

No intake form and no drip sequence. If the audit is not the right shape for what you need, I will say so in the first reply.
